Subject: Lwave rev C - Turbo
X-Listprocessor-Version: 6.0c -- ListProcessor by Anastasios Kotsikonas
Status: O
X-Status:
Ok...no doubt about it LW rev C is definitely a recompiled item.
Benchmark wise I'm looking at a 20-25% speed increase.
In the May '95 issue of LWpro there are some benchmaks dor the olde
version.
A 100MHZ 32MB 256K cache Pentium rendes the Textures.lws in 3:57s
My P133 32MB 256K cache win 32s does it in 2:31s
More impressively:
The Raytrace.lws - P100 - old Ltwave renders in : 2hr, 3min, 53 s
The P133 does it in exactly 1 hr.
This taken relatively would imply a Pentium running over 200MHz would be
necessary (using old v4.0) to match the P133 with rev C.
I can't wait for revision D!!
Does anyone using NT realise thses speed improvements?
